During the Mid-West floods in 2008, I supported the Indiana National Guard with GIS and RS products. The question most asked was, “I need for you to tell me where and how much water will result from the rains. And, where will we have flooding conditions in the next 12, 24, 48, 72 and 96 hours?” I was not sure how to do this, but I was determined to provide the answer. I was not successful during this mission, but after the event’s chaos, I began my quest.
